A van has been taken off the road after being discovered to be uninsured.

The white Renault Trafic was pulled over by Cheshire Police’s Roads and Crime Unit in Warrington overnight.

The owner of the car had forgotten to get insurance and was ticketed by a police officer. When it was discovered that he had driven while his licence was revoked, things got worse for him.

A roadside breath test revealed a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 72, far in excess of the legal drink-drive limit.

In England, drivers may not have more than 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
