The Norfolk & Suffolk Roads Armed Policing team stopped a van on the A14 and found that it was overweight. The vehicle was weighed and found to be 360kgs over the plated weight. The vehicle must now be recovered and has an immediate direction to leave the UK by the nearest port.

The van was stopped by the DVSA Enforcement team and was also cited by the Commercial Vehicle Unit (CVU). All of the cargo was removed from the van and it was weighed again. The empty van was still found to be overweight. This is a serious matter as vehicles that are overweight can pose a danger to other drivers on the road. If you believe that your vehicle is overweight, you should take action immediately to rectify the situation.

If you are driving a vehicle that is overweight, you could be putting yourself and others in danger. If you are caught, you will face serious consequences. Your vehicle may be impounded and you could even be banned from driving in the UK.

It is important to make sure that your vehicle is within the weight limit set by the manufacturer. If you are unsure, you can always take it to a mechanic or weigh station to have it checked. Do not risk your safety or the safety of others by driving an overweight vehicle.
