On July 19, a vehicle transporting sausages and burgers was stopped by police for being “grossly overweight”. Officers pulled the vehicle over on an undisclosed Midlands motorway.

The West Midlands Police Motorway Service Area (MSA) team, part of the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG), in charge of policing the M5, M6, M54, M42 and A500, was: “The vehicle was dealt with.”

CMPG also reported that they had dealt with multiple vehicles on the same day, for being grossly overweight – the last of which was carrying a large quantity of sausages and burgers.

Other offenders caught throughout the day exceeded the weight limit of 3500,  “Highest offenders came in at 5130kg and 4810kg”, adds CMPG.
