Roads Policing & Specialist Operations Unit (RPSO), South Wales along with DVSA Enforcement conducted an abnormal loads operation on M4. Officers stopped and examined an abnormal load

The design weight exceeded, weighing 94 tonnes. The vehicle was nearly 50m long and had no escort vehicle either. The Movement order of the vehicle had incorrect details and the driver took a deviated route from MO. The details on special order were also incorrect and the vehicle did not have enough axles on ground.

The driver was issued with a Prohibition Notice and the vehicle was parked up, until a new drawing vehicle was found, a new special order applied for, and a new notification for movement order submitted.

Movement Order is a document which requires it to be completed for any abnormal load being moved on the highway. It is a legal requirement that the details provided are accurate. It contains details on the route to be taken, timings, vehicle dimensions and load details .
