The Thames Valley Police‘s Rural Crime Task Force has been collaborating as part of an operation to combat rural crime in the region.

Vehicles carrying plant and farm machinery were identified, loaded onto trucks, and taken to the Abingdon weighbridge for weighing during this operation. Vehicles were weighed for safety, and goods were examined to ensure that they hadn’t been stolen.

During the operation, a total of 29 vehicles were checked. One was discovered to be overweight, while another had no insurance. A third car had a fault that necessitated its immediate prohibition.

On the day, all of the drivers were given crime prevention advice about how to keep their vehicles and other possessions safer.
