The DVSA Enforcement team was absolutely shocked by the conditions of the vehicles they found during a recent stop in Dover. Overweight, Insecure loads, dangerous brake defects, corrosion, electrical issues, and a missing wheel were just some of the violations they discovered.

The team found an insecure load with straps that were tied together, rather than being properly secured. Additionally, the brakes were defective and posed a serious danger. The extent of the corrosion and electrical issues was alarming, and even more so was the fact that there was no tachograph fitted to the vehicle. The final straw was when they discovered that the trailer was overweight by 35%

All of these violations resulted in the vehicle being removed from the road network. This is a serious issue, as companies need to be held accountable for ensuring their vehicles are up to standards. Drivers need to be aware of these dangers before getting behind the wheel

Vehicle stops like this one are important in order to ensure drivers and companies are keeping up with maintenance and safety standards. The DVSA team was greatly alarmed by the conditions of the vehicles they found and wanted to remind everyone to stay safe on the roads.
